MEET THE HOMESCHOOL DROPOUT.
These were the words uttered to me at the wee age of 14 years old. Having been dropped off at numerous home-school events, I was at the latest "young adult motivational thing" my mom wanted us to be a part of. There was a fun, young, profesional teacher who looked at me and simply said "at your age, your next step is to find a mentor." I didn't know what a mentor was... but I decided to give it a shot and go looking.
We didn't grow up with much, but we did have some good joy in the home. Our whole family extremely musical, there was never a moment where some sort of classical, rock, or old church hymn was lulling through the air. But having no money growing up had the effect is usually does... a desire for success, for abundance, for being someone who mattered. We were the weird family on the block, and i was its ring leader. Secretly, I loved it.
